The series was launched on 19 June 2012 and ended on 11 July 2012. Sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes on the lines of gender. The tribes were named for rivers in the Peruvian Rainforest: the men on Putumayo in blue and the women on Ampiyacu in beige. The first twist came on Day 1 as castaways had to pick a castaway from their opposite tribe to be their Secret Partner. castaways that voted out his/her rival received a Hidden Immunity Idol. In addition, the Mutiny twist made it easier to vote our your rival and also gave a clue to a separate Hidden Immunity Idol.

On Day 4, Cirie Fields (Wiseman) mutinied from her tribe making her the first contestant to ever do so. On Day 7, a school yard pick was initiated by Brandon Hantz (Cosmo14) and Erinn Lobdell (Hinata0014).

On Day 11, the two tribes merged into Apimao as suggested by Natalie White (Jennifur), the usual Survivor Auction took place with the introduction of the mysterious Pandora's Box which was won by Jonny Fairplay (AlexRyder). Pandora's Box kept the user safe for two Tribal Councils (by nullifying votes in the first, and giving straight up Immunity in the second) and also made the next Tribal Council more dynamic by eliminating the two people with the most number of votes.

Dawn Meehan (Alyxandra) won the season defeating Chris Daugherty (Damienirl) and Ken Stafford (Damo1990) in a 6-0-0 vote earning all the votes and making her the first winner to win unanimously. Chris Daugherty and Erinn Lobdell (Hinata0014) both won the Sprint Players of the Season as Chris surfed through the game with no alliances while Erinn was the only person who found the idol this season.

Episode 1

The castaways were shocked to find themselves split by gender.

At Ampiyacu, Kim, Cirie, Dawn, Ashley, Natalie and Candice introduced themselves. Natalie questioned why Candice and Cirie were on her tribe.

At Putumayo, Chase, Greg, Brandon, Michael, James, Chris and Ken introduced themselves. Chase and Brandon tried bringing up tribe morale. Chris tried his very best being friendly to his tribe.

At the Immunity Challenge, Brandon got the men to a good start while Michelle got a good start for the women. Erinn and Cirie kept up the pace for the women. James couldn't pick up the pace for the men and Ken decided to start over. Chris continued with the pace but Michael and James messed it up for the men again sending them back to the start. Brandon, Ken and Chris managed to work together and bring the men back in the challenge. James, Jon and Chase increased the lead for the men as the women fell more and more behind on the challenge because of Candice. The men easily won Immunity.

At Tribal Council, Natalie and Cirie led the women to vote out their weakest member Candice and she was the first person voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest

Episode 2

At Ampiyacu, the women felt confident they made the right choice at Tribal Council.

At the Immunity Challenge however, the men started off with a good lead but the women soon caught up and make the score even. Shockingly, Cirie decided to switch tribes because she felt she didn’t fit in with the others and also wanted a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol and thus her chip went to Putumayo and the women lost Immunity once again.

At Putumayo, Chase decided that he did not want to be in the game and decided to quit. Brandon was surprised that Cirie mutinied to his tribe but decided that it wouldn't really affect his strategy. Chris thought he was in charge of this game while Ken wanted to take out all the big threats as soon as possible. Greg didn't like the notions of an alliance resolved to play a pure game.

At Tribal Council, Cirie showed up and wanted to go back to her tribe but was disallowed and was told that the challenge would present another opportunity to mutiny. Natalie didn't understand why Cirie left. While it seemed that Ashley's poor challenge performance put her on the chopping block, Kim was deemed too much of a threat and was the second person voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 3

At the Immunity Challenge, only one player had to win it for their tribes. Natalie and Brandon got off to good starts with Brandon slightly leading. But Erinn went ahead and won it for Ampiyacu while Brandon won Immunity from his tribe. Also, Cirie did not mutiny as she said she was going to in the Tribal Council before.

At Tribal Council, Brandon rejoiced at winning Immunity. He didn't go after his secret partner Cirie but targeted alliance hater Greg. In a very split vote, Greg was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest

Episode 4

It was announced that the two tribes would be switch up once again by schoolyard picks initiated by Brandon and Erinn who won the last two immunities. The result was Dawn and Natalie being switched to Putumayo and Cirie, Jon and Michael switched to Ampiyacu.

At the Immunity Challenge, Ken dominated sending Ampiyacu to tribal council.

At Tribal Council, Ashley's laidback attitude got her into trouble and she was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 5

At the Immunity Challenge, Putumayo won in a close match and send Ampiyacu to Tribal Council.

At Tribal Council, Erinn made her move on her secret partner Michael and Michael was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest. Erinn was given the first Hidden Immunity Idol.

Episode 6

At the Survivor Auction, Erinn won the Black Vote, Dawn won the Golden Vote, Cirie won Immunity while Jon won the mysterious Pandora’s Box.

At Tribal Council, Dawn and Erinn tried to flush out Pandora’s Box but were unsuccessful when the box was opened. All votes for Jon were mysteriously cancelled and Brandon’s laidback attitude got him voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 7

Natalie came up with the new tribe name: Apimao

At the Immunity Challenge, Ken dominated and won Immunity.

At the Tribal Council, the double elimination changed strategies and made everyone nervous. In the end, Cirie and James got the boot and were voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 8

At the Immunity Challenge, Natalie dominated and won Immunity.

At Tribal Council, a tie vote between Jon and Michelle caused the call for past votes and Michelle was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 9

At the Immunity Challenge, Natalie dominated once again and won Immunity.

At Tribal Council, a last minute deal switched things up and it came to a tie between Jon and Chris. Due to previous votes, Jon was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

Episode 10

At the Immunity Challenge, Dawn won in a blowout.

At Tribal Council, Natalie was targeted for being a physical threat and was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest

Episode 11

At the Immunity Challenge, Dawn won in a closely contested challenge and secured her spot in the finals.

At Tribal Council, Chris and Ken stuck to their alliance while Dawn casted a throwaway vote and Erinn was voted out of Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest.

At the Final Tribal Council, Dawn talked about how she played an extremely UTR game and slowly climbed her way to the top. Ken revealed how tactical his game was. Chris wanted to prove to everyone that a good guy could win this game by not making any alliances. Natalie straight up told she was voting for Dawn while Jon gave a good speech on why Dawn deserved to win. The jury unanimously agreed and Dawn won Survivor: The Peruvian Rainforest in a 6-0-0 vote.
